African specialties & cape wines

Numerous wine trips to southern Africa then resulted in the fact that the family Dr. Fehle-Friedel began importing South African wines under the brand “Kapwein”. Since 2004, hotel guests have been able to enjoy delicacies such as ostrich steaks or the South African national dish Bobotie in the specialty restaurant "African Lounge". Africa also found its way into other business areas: in mid-2005 the construction of an African sauna landscape began, the Amani Spa. You can even experience "Africa wellness" with applications developed in-house in the Parkhotel Bayersoien! The coveted African Nights, African decorations and overnight arrangements complete the overall package.

It is thanks to the longstanding ties to Africa that hotel guests can be welcomed in a very special place: the “African Lounge”. Noble furniture made of dark wood, African art objects and traditional tapestries - surrounded by an extraordinary flair, the typical African dishes taste twice as delicious!

Do you know the South African national dish "Bobotie"? It has been known in the Cape region since the 17th century and has been an integral part of South African cuisine ever since. Minced meat is baked with vegetables and fruits, and curry rice and chutney are served. Not only this pleasure is celebrated here, but other specialties are also kept ready for you in the changing menu: Whether Cape Malay guinea fowl, curry fish soup or Hertzoggies - let yourself be surprised by the “Culinary Safari”! Exclusive South African cape wines, selected by the Friedel family themselves in the wine region around Franschhoek, Paarl and Stellenbosch, are served with the menu.
